Meeting the Elements: Water

The above is a collection of objects I gathered today while channeling ideas for this piece. Each of them spoke to me as a talisman of water in its many forms: playful, emotional, a channel for voice and self, a portal to other realms.

In alignment with my upcoming class Elemental Magic, here is the first in a short series introducing us to the elements. This will include messages I've received from the elements that they wanted conveyed, as well as a channeled overview of their important qualities and properties. Let's get started!

Today we meet: Water

Water is patient. We learn to receive from water, through the way it remold itself around whatever is immersed, through the way it responds to gravity and the pull of the moon. Water lets us look into our pasts and find what is for us in this moment, what memory can teach us about today.

We are not our emotions, and yet our emotions fill us like ocean tides, desiring to be witnessed and held in the bowl of our pelvis and our hearts. If we don't give them time to speak, the wave grows until it makes itself felt.

Mystery resides within the waters of our subconscious, but it is our choice how mysterious this remains. Do you give your subconscious space on this waking plane? Do you invite it to deliver its messages through meditation, dream, writing by hand, entering the flow states of walking or doing the dishes? Pull back the curtain, with its pomegranates of the realm below, and two side of yourself unite in wholeness.

In embodying water, we release the bounds of this material plane and travel into the subconscious, the womb of creation. In doing so, we see beyond our world to other planes - our physical limits dissolve and we experience the connectedness of all things.

This Water realm is here beside us all the time. In the moon waxing and waning, in the ripe fruit in your fridge, in the curve of your belly, in the height of summer plant growth. Let it become visible to you, a companion to support you, and in turn support water with your awareness and respect.

Water Journal Prompts:

- Where are you struggling to make or do, when the world is calling for you to sit back and intentionally receive?
- What is your body asking for today?

- What qualities of water do you see in yourself?

The above is just a taste of how we can be in relationship with Water. If you want to learn more, about this element and the others, as well as their connection to Tarot, spellcraft, and shifting energy, sign up for Elemental Magic
