Moon Moment

Moon: TINIEST waning crescent, almost new

Next full or new moon: New moon on Sept 14, 9:40pm EST. 

Seasonal moment: We are mid-September, nearly at the Equinox, a time for celebrating the balance between darkness and light. 

Astrological season: heading towards the end of Virgo season

The moon, watery goddex that they are, connects deeply to emotions and the subconscious. As such, the part of any creative endeavor where we dive into ourselves for inspiration, for a reason to create, is their domain. 

The Moon card in the Tarot illustrates this well: a dog and a wolf howl, showing us the line, or thinness there of, between tame and wild; a lobster, symbol of the unknowable depths and creatures that inhabit them, comes up from below. 

The moon card shows us that place we're both exhilarated and afraid to go, our shadow-realms inhabited by our rawest parts and most beautiful ideas.

I invite you to delve into your own bright shadows, to invite your subconscious to share itself with you through dream and flow-state, so that new ideas might rise to the surface to become your next creation. 

The drawing above is one that represents my current ideation of my Ideal Work State: I am an elf, situated between two trees with bookshelves in their trunks. I shift easily from writing to drawing to meditating, and when it's time for me to teach or work with others, I go over to the window in the ground where others appear, so we can talk.
